Our final profile of this summer series has a very particular set of skills... Jagdeep Aujla is a London-born karate champion and martial arts enthusiast who, since his Parkinson's diagnosis, has established the Dopamine Warriors Boxing Club. Jagdeep joins the Movers & Shakers in the pub and shows all the resilience you'd expect from the Bruce Lee of PD – but also some cheering optimism about embracing the challenges of the condition and fighting through.

Jagdeep Aujla (UK): A devoted family man blessed with two wonderful children. Having been diagnosed in June 2021, he has focussed on doing what he does best - supporting others - a trait inspired by his Sikh faith and his parents' teachings. Jag joined his local Parkinson's UK group as a member. Having a driving passion for serving the wider community, Jag has tirelessly campaigned to raise awareness and funds while advocating for the cause. He has established a non-combative boxing class for fellow people with Parkinson’s - “the Dopamine Warriors Boxing Club”. The Club’s motto is 'Never Give Up the Fight.' Jag has made a significant positive difference in the lives of many.

Jag's Reflections on the Movers & Shakers Podcast

It was a real pleasure being invited to the Movers & Shakers podcast. Sitting in the warm, familiar setting of a Ladbroke Grove pub, I was greeted by Rory, The Judge, Paul, Mark, and Gillian - a team full of heart and curiosity.

We spoke briefly about my life before and after Parkinson’s, touching on the challenges, the resilience, and the journey that shaped me. What made this moment truly special was the opportunity to reach out to ethnic communities, to instil a sense of positivity and hope.

Parkinson’s doesn’t define us - it reveals our strength. I’m deeply grateful to the team for creating a space where stories like mine can be heard, and where voices from all backgrounds can find connection and courage.

Thank you, Movers & Shakers. 🥊✨
