Practice session

If you have signed up for the BIG Sing you should have received an e-mail with a Zoom link to our practice session on Monday 7th April at 4:00pm. Please check your junk inbox if you have not received this yet. There is no obligation to attend this practice.

The Movers and Shakers along with Parkinson's UK, Cure Parkinson's and Spotlight YOPD want YOU to JOIN US for THE BIG SING on 11 April 2025 for World Parkinson's Day.

We want as many people as possible to join us in Westminster to raise awareness for the Parky Charter and the urgent need for change by taking part in an interactive singing experience, culminating in a grand finale of the Movers & Shakers' Parky anthem "We Will Survive". Everyone is welcome - fellow Parkies, carers and supporters. You don't even have to be able to sing, just mime along and we'll do the rest.

The event will take place at Old Palace Yard, Westminster - OPPOSITE THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT - at 12pm for a 12:15pm start. It will last for 30-45 minutes and you are welcome to join us afterwards at the new Parkinson's UK offices for refreshments and further World Parkinson's Day entertainment. More details to follow soon.

If you would like to join us please do let us know by filling in the form HERE.

If you can’t make it to London why not do what several Parky choirs in Yorkshire are doing and come together to create your very own BIG SING at the same time, on the same day.

Let's make some noise!

Impropera Opera

In addition to our own World Parkinson's Day celebrations we wanted to let you know that the Impropera Opera Company will be performing a very special medley of "Parkinsongs" especially for us at Guy's Chapel with Emma Lawton at 7:30pm on 11th April.

Impropera describe themselves as "the world's only and probably best" improvising opera company. 20 or so years into performing their unique brand of improvised musical virtuosity, they are still bemused why people laugh so much. "We are always trying to do proper opera" explains Artistic Director David Pearl. "It just never quite happens."

We look forward to making some noise with you very soon!

With a wry smile,
